Job description

As a People & Talent Partner, your core mission will be to find, attract, and hire the best talent to join OakNorth. You’ll lead on end-to-end recruitment for key roles—partnering closely withhiring managers to understand their needs, shape hiring strategies, and deliver a seamless,high-quality candidate experience.

In addition to driving recruitment, you’ll be the main People point of contact for our Manchesteroffice—providing on-the-ground support, fostering strong relationships, and helping to embedour culture locally. You’ll work as part of the wider People team to ensure a smooth transitionfrom offer to onboarding and contribute to a positive, high-performance employee experiencefrom day one. Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for all Manchester-based employees on People-related
  • matters, offering guidance and support across day-to-day queries and processes.
  • Supporting onboarding processes, ensuring new joiners have a smooth and welcoming start.
  • Helping with smooth offboarding experiences, from scheduling exit interviews to making sure records are updated.
  • Being the go-to person for everyday employee questions in Manchester —whether it’s about time off, benefits, or where to find something.
  • Finding exceptional talent for Operations, Client Onboarding, and other departments by sourcing candidates who align with our values and objectives.
  • Using LinkedIn and other tools to connect with potential candidates and build strong, diverse talent pipelines.
  • Writing and sharing job ads that showcase who we are and what we’re looking for.
  • •Coordinating interviews, scheduling meetings, and staying in touch with candidates
  • throughout the hiring journey.
  • Making sure every candidate has a smooth and positive experience, from first message
  • to job offer.
  • Supporting our employer brand and EVP in Manchester by helping create content for social media, campaigns, or behind-the-scenes stories.
  • Working closely with the wider Talent team and hiring managers to understand what great looks like and help build inclusive hiring processes.
  • Collaborating with the People Partner for the business areas to support and drive the business strategy.
  • Work alongside the Talent team, contributing to and supporting wider people initiatives and projects that drive business results.
Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a People & Talent role, with exposure to recruitment coordination, talent acquisition, or people operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident using HR platforms like Lever (ATS) and HiBob (HRIS) to support hiring and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Understanding of the full recruitment journey, including scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfortable partnering with internal teams across functions and locations to support hiring and people initiatives.
  • Familiar with LinkedIn and sourcing techniques, with a willingness to grow your direct sourcing skills.
  • Organised and analytical, with experience using spreadsheets and trackers to manage data and recruitment metrics.
