Job summary

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention is supporting a not-for-profit organisation in Leicester by recruiting an experienced People Advisor on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role offers hybrid working with attendance at the Leicester office and a salary to £37,000 per annum.

You will provide hands‑on HR support across the employee lifecycle, advise managers, support employee relations, and help improve HR processes and services during a period of organisational change.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR Generalist or HR Advisor with lifecycle experience.
• Ability to advise managers on HR policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of UK employment law and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding, induction, probation, employee changes and offboarding.
• Provide first‑line HR advice to managers on a range of people matters.
• Support employee relations, performance, attendance and conduct issues.
• Produce HR reporting and use data to identify trends and risks.
• Improve HR processes, templates and self‑service tools.
• Support HR projects, change activity and workforce planning.
