Are you passionate about fostering a positive, supportive work environment while driving best practices in HR? Do you have the skills to guide and empower managers, clergy, and employees in people management? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

The Diocese of Leeds is seeking a dedicated People Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will support the HR needs of the Diocese, coach managers, and develop impactful HR projects. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a faith-based setting, championing professionalism, inclusion, and employee wellbeing.

Your Role
  1. Deliver expert HR advice and support to Church House staff, clergy, and parish representatives on employment matters.
  2. Coach and empower line managers to foster positive employee relations.
  3. Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
  4. Lead and implement HR projects aligned with the Diocese's service plan.
  5. Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, promoting safer practices.
  6. Deliver training and development sessions for employees, clergy, and parishes.
  7. Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in employment practices and leadership.
  8. Collaborate with external providers and internal teams to support employee wellbeing and workplace adjustments.
What We're Looking For
  1. Proven HR experience, including policy development, training, and employee relations.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and best practices.
  3. Excellent communication and coaching skills to build stakeholder relationships.
  4. A proactive, collaborative approach to managing projects.
  5. Willingness to learn about diocesan employee and clergy practices.
  6. Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
