Job Description: HR/People Advisor

Location: Sheffield (fully office based)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30/9:00 - 17:00/17:30

We are seeking a dedicated HR/People Advisor to support the implementation of our People strategy by advising and supporting senior management and board members. The role involves contributing to HR projects and initiatives that enhance overall company performance, driving employee engagement, ensuring legal compliance, and advocating for fairness and consistency in employee management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Be a trusted and approachable advisor, providing solutions and support to managers with the assistance of the HR/People team.
  2. Implement and promote the company's mission and values to enhance performance.
  3. Provide accurate people-related information and advice aligned with organizational values.
  4. Support managers on operational employee relations, including grievances and conduct issues.
  5. Assist in performance management processes and address sickness/attendance challenges.
  6. Advise on employment law with support from senior HR team members to minimize risks.
  7. Manage people-related change during business acquisitions and restructuring.
  8. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition teams on workforce planning, talent mapping, and succession planning.
  9. Contribute to the People strategy to improve business performance and foster positive change.
  10. Utilize HR data and software to analyze patterns and recommend actions.
  11. Build strong relationships with managers to influence decision-making.
  12. Review and update HR policies to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  13. Communicate policies effectively and provide training to employees.
  14. Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate and timely pay-related information.
  15. Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  16. Support the creation and distribution of HR documentation and provide guidance on policies.
  17. Assist in managing HR projects and initiatives, supporting team development.
  18. Provide coverage for the People Administrator and support junior HR team members' training and development.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience or aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
