The Role

In this role you will lead and support managers and employees in all employee relations matters in line with the group’s policies and procedures as appropriate, including disciplinary, capability and grievance processes and redundancy, absence and organisational restructure activity. Acting with discretion and sensitivity, you will ensure the advice given is in line with current employment law.

You will also participate in the recruitment, induction and training of staff, as well as support the People Partner for the area in preparing for Employment Tribunals, organisational change processes and other projects as needed.

In your business areas, you will identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and people processes, understand barriers and looking for possible solutions, conducting external research into good practice and new ideas, sharing the feedback with the Centre of Expertise to ensure continuous improvement.

Our Successful Candidate

Qualified to Degree level in a relevant subject and / or with significant demonstrable HR experience, you will also hold or be willing to work towards a CIPD or equivalent qualification.

You will have previous and relevant operational experience within a HR advisory role in a large, complex, matrixed organisation. Experience of working within a Higher Education or large organisation would be an advantage.

Using your knowledge and experience of working with key HR policies(i.e. disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence management), you will have well developed influencing and persuasion skills to engage and provide a first class service to customers and stakeholders at all levels across the group.

Working with minimal supervision, you will have the ability to prioritise and make decisions, demonstrating cultural awareness, working inclusively with individualsfrom a variety of diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages and experience with courtesy and professionalism, establishing and maintaining co-operative working relationships.
