Job summary

A local government authority is seeking a Pensions Team Leader for a temporary role, with opportunities for extension or permanency. The ideal candidate will have local government pensions experience and a strong ability in team management. Responsibilities include assisting the Pensions Manager, overseeing team activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This is a hybrid role with 2 office days per week, located in London.

Overview

Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Haringey Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Pensions Team Leader this role will be: (Hybrid 2 days office based) N22 7TY

Responsibilities
  • Assist and when required, deputise for the Pensions Manager in the efficient administration and communications of all aspects of the Local Government Pensions Scheme (LGPS)
  • Act in a proactive liaison role in managing employing bodies that participate in the pension fund, Providing advice and guidance as required to ensure staff and partners have the information they need and that data and payments are properly and promptly made to the fund.
  • Support the pensions Manager in the interpretation and application of the LGPS regulations and related legislation.
  • Manage, support, and develop a team of people. Manage their activities ensuring work carried out meets the expected performance standards and timescales.
Requirements
  • LGPS experienced Team leader required to join the Haringey Pension Fund.
  • Duties will include allocating and checking work of Pension Officers and Apprentices. Full range of calculation experience required, cradle to grave.
  • Altair experience a desire but not a must, relevant other pensions software experience considered.
