Job summary

The Actuary in the United Kingdom is expanding its pensions data team, an award-winning actuarial and analytics consultancy. They seek an experienced actuary to join in London or Edinburgh, focusing on de-risking work and data strategy.

You will work on client projects including data readiness for buy-in/buy-out/run-off, GMP rectification, Barber window projects, data cleansing, and member communications support.

Qualifications

• Five+ years' experience in UK pensions actuarial consulting (Fellowship not required).
• Strong UK pensions technical knowledge, including valuations and member option calculations.
• Ability to lead a small team, delegate, and explain context.
• Commercial awareness and a good grip on budgets.
• Clear communication and the confidence to challenge.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data risks and scheme-level data strategies.
• Review data readiness for buy-in, buy-out and run-off.
• GMP rectification, equalisation and Barber window projects.
• Data cleanses, including benefit tranching and reconstruction.
• Data reviews to support member communications and benefit changes.
• Collaborate with actuarial, administration and pension risk transfer teams; participate in client meetings and help develop methods and tools.
