Job Purpose
We are seeking a capable and motivated Pensions Assistant Manager to support the Head of Corporate Pensions in the effective governance, strategic oversight, and delivery of pension and life assurance provision across the UK and Ireland.
This role is key to ensuring compliance with pension legislation, supporting financial reporting processes, and leading a wide range of business-critical pension and benefits projects. You’ll also serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on all aspects of pensions, life assurance, and related benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead pensions and benefits governance projects across the UK & Ireland, ensuring effective delivery and compliance.
- Manage automatic enrolment compliance and triennial re-enrolment for UK entities.
- Provide high-quality data and analysis for Group and statutory financial disclosures related to pensions.
- Assist with de-risking strategies such as trivial commutation and pension increase exchange exercises.
- Support participation in external schemes (e.g. NHS), including bulk transfers and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate notifiable event reporting across UK businesses and liaise with The Pensions Regulator.
- Advise on pensions and benefits elements of acquisitions, disposals, and new contracts, including TUPE compliance.
- Prepare materials and updates for employee and pension forums and assist with ongoing communications across UK divisions.
- Manage life assurance scheme renewals, audits, and handle day-to-day queries and processes.
- Liaise with global teams on executive retirement planning, including Scheme Zero and long-term incentive coordination.
- Lead the annual administration and communication of the Bonus Sacrifice Scheme.
- Act as the go-to contact for HR, payroll, and benefits teams on pensions-related issues across UK businesses.
Your Profile
- 3+ years of relevant experience in pensions, employee benefits, or administration/project roles.
- Knowledge of defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) schemes.
- Familiarity with UK pensions legislation and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in pensions consulting with hands-on project and stakeholder management experience would a huge advantage
- Strong data, analysis, and project coordination skills.
- Confident communicator who can build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in a corporate pensions or pensions consulting environment would be a huge plus
