KPMG is expanding its Tax and Legal practice to better support clients with their pension obligations. Our pensions team collaborates with over 2,400 colleagues across Tax and Legal, and we are adding new roles focused on delivering advice related to pension provision and other pension issues in ongoing operations and transactions.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Consultant to join our pensions actuarial team. You will deliver high-quality actuarial advice concerning defined benefit pension schemes in the private sector.

Your responsibilities will include working closely with senior team members to provide:

  • Strategic planning and risk management for self-sufficiency or buyout, including surplus use.
  • Funding advice to sponsors and compliance with DB funding code.
  • Pension due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Member education and communication.
  • Advice on benefit changes, design, and implementation.
  • Governance and compliance advice.
  • Pensions accounting advice.

Role Description

  • Understanding of defined benefit pension schemes and actuarial liability calculations.
  • Knowledge of pension accounting.
  • Analyzing client data using actuarial techniques and models.
  • Producing technical actuarial work aligned with standards and quality procedures.
  • Assessing reasonableness of assumptions and results using internal tools.
  • Drafting reports and emails from outputs.
  • Supporting case management and administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of client projects.
  • Developing technical expertise.
  • Maintaining effective communication within the team.
  • Financial management including billing and debt collection.

Experience & Knowledge
