KPMG is expanding its Tax and Legal practice by enhancing support for clients' pensions obligations. Our pensions team collaborates with over 2,400 colleagues, delivering advice on pension-related matters in ongoing operations and transactions.
We seek experienced Consultants to join our pensions actuarial team, responsible for providing high-quality advice on defined benefit pension schemes in the private sector.
You will work closely with senior team members, delivering:
- Strategic planning and risk management aimed at self-sufficiency or buyout, including surplus use.
- Funding advice to sponsors and compliance with DB funding code.
- Pension due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Member education and communication.
- Advice on benefit design, changes, and implementation.
- Governance and compliance advice.
- Pensions accounting guidance.
Description of the Role
- Understand defined benefit pension schemes and actuarial liability calculations.
- Understand pension accounting.
- Analyze client data using actuarial techniques and models.
- Produce technical actuarial work adhering to standards and quality procedures.
- Check reasonableness of assumptions and results with tools.
- Draft reports/emails based on outputs.
- Support case management and administrative tasks.
- Ensure timely project delivery.
- Develop technical expertise.
- Maintain open communication within the team.
- Manage financial aspects like billing and debt collection.

Experience & Knowledge
- Experience in pensions actuarial work, preferably in a consultancy or Big 4.
- Basic knowledge of pension valuations and actuarial techniques.
