Pensions Administration Training Academy Senior Administrator

This role is ideal for a pensions professional eager to transition into a role that will drive the success of Isio’s next generation of talent. If you thrive on developing others and have a vision for excellence in pensions administration, we want to hear from you.

As a Senior Pensions Administrator in the Pensions Administration Training Academy at Isio, you will play a crucial role in helping to implement a comprehensive training programme for new trainees. Your focus will be to ensure that your team develop the skills, knowledge, practical experience and confidence to perform to the highest standards in pensions administration roles at Isio.

You will act as a mentor, trainer, and ensure adherence to our quality framework, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. You will ensure the trainees output is accurate and timely, processing pension scheme tasks whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and SLAs.

You will play a pivotal role in helping to maintain Isio’s reputation as a trusted partner in pensions administration and driving operational excellence, whilst supporting your team of trainees in their professional development journey with Isio.

This role will ideally be based in our Belfast office with a hybrid workstyle, but we can consider another office location for the right candidate.

What does the role entail?

  • Aid in the delivery of a structured training programme covering all core areas of Pensions Administration, with a focus on defined benefit schemes.
  • Assist in the delivery of hands-on workshops, simulations, and role-playing exercises to build practical skills.
  • Performance manage, mentor and motivate a team of pension trainee administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. You will conduct regular performance reviews, identifying skills gaps, training needs, and develop tailored individual development plans.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to ensure trainees meet competency milestones and behavioural traits.
  • Work closely with Admin Training Academy Manager and the Operation Managers (as required) to ensure training aligns with business needs.
  • Monitor the performance of the trainees assigned to you against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and take steps to maintain high levels of service as required.
  • You will carry out quality checks to ensure trainees meet Isio’s service standards before they progress to the wider Admin teams.

What we’re looking for

  • An experienced senior pensions administration, or a very strong pensions administrator looking to take the next step in their career.
  • Experience and knowledge of administering DB and DC pension schemes (DB experience is essential for the role).
  • Passion for training, coaching, mentoring and/or developing more junior members of the team.
  • Proven track record of performance management including setting objectives, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to perform and check all aspects of pensions administration tasks, including complex manual pension calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to achieve agreed targets, milestones and SLAs (as appropriate).
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel applications.
  • Strong numerical skills.
