Excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst with both IT and OT Security experience to join a rapidly evolving business offering brilliant progression routes, a great benefits package, and some truly fascinating projects to be a part of!

In this role you will join a larger IT department but will be one of only two in the Cyber Security Team. You'll design strategies for both IT and OT security, working closely with the Infrastructure Teams to rollout new equipment where required. You'll regularly test Cyber Security to ensure maximum coverage at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience with both OT and IT Cyber Security. Any experience with IEC62443 would be highly beneficial. Some Cyber Design experience will be essential as you'll be the leading Analyst in this team. Due to the current requirements, this will be an office-based position for at least the foreseeable future.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting risk analysis, security policy implementation, and the Secure by Design framework across Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT). You will contribute to:
* Risk Management: Conduct risk analysis and interpret first-line operational outputs to support VPI's overall cyber security risk posture.
* Operational Security: Assist in incident response testing, data management, and coordination of cyber security with physical and personnel security teams.
* Human Risk Management: Develop cyber security awareness materials, manage phishing protection programmes, and handle external threat intelligence.
* Software Development & Cloud Security: Support the integration of security policies into DevOps processes and cloud-based tools.
* Business & Change Management: Contribute to risk mitigation strategies for business development and internal change projects.
* Incident Response: Act as a responder within VPI's cyber security incident framework.

What we're looking for
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 1-2 years of experience in a cyber security-related role.
* Educational or workplace experience in cyber security operations.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* Experience in change management activities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

Desirable Qualifications:
* Foundation or Fundamentals level Cyber Security certifications or badges.
* Educated to HND/Degree level in a relevant field.
* Understanding of technology principles within the energy sector (not essential but beneficial).

SOC Analyst – Infrastructure - Up to £50,000pa - Hull

Location: Hull (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Salary: Up to £50,000

A major UK infrastructure organisation is seeking a SOC Analyst to help strengthen its cyber defence capabilities. This is a great opportunity to join a Microsoft-focused environment and work hands-on with leading security tools like Microsoft Sentinel and Defender .

You'll support the organisation’s security operations by deploying and managing monitoring tools, responding to threats, and enhancing infrastructure protection across IT and OT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploying and optimising Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender
  • Monitoring alerts, investigating incidents, and supporting response efforts
  • Managing core security infrastructure including firewalls, antivirus, encryption, and cloud platforms
  • Supporting audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
  • Collaborating with internal teams and third-party partners to drive secure operations

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years in IT and/or cybersecurity roles
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure security services (ideal but not essential)
  • A recognised security qualification (e.g., CISMP, GSEC, Level 4+ apprenticeship)
