Job summary

NCIC is recruiting a Children’s Occupational Therapist (Band 5) for a 12-month fixed-term, part-time role (28 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The post supports the Children’s Community OT Team in South Cumbria, delivering assessments, treatments and discharge planning for children with disabilities.

You will work within MOHO framework, provide specialist advice to schools, housing and other professionals, and receive supervision with opportunities for CPD and professional development.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Evidence of CPD is desirable.
• Knowledge of a wide range of OT treatment techniques.
• Some knowledge of legislation relating to children.
• Some knowledge of NHS trends that influence service provision.
• IT skills including word processing, e-mail and publisher skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Organisational skills demonstrated through project involvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload across settings.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate treatment for children and young people.
• Receive supervision and contribute to professional development.
