Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in Scotland invites applications for a Band 5 Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department at the Royal Hospital for Children. This busy, child-centred role requires strong communication and teamwork across triage, minors, majors and resuscitation.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for children and young people, administer medications and IV therapies, and support families within a multidisciplinary team. Permanent, 36 hours per week, days and nights.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in an acute paediatric setting is essential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
• Deliver nursing care across ED including medications, IV therapies and resuscitation when competent.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support patients and families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary decision-making, audits and quality improvement.
