Job summary

Chailey Heritage Foundation is seeking staff to support aquatic therapy programmes and sessions for children and young people with complex needs. You’ll assist in the water, help with personal care, and monitor progress within a multidisciplinary team.

You’ll work closely with NHS physiotherapy, education, care and aquatics colleagues to create a safe, inclusive environment and contribute to pool operations with a strong emphasis on safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Confident swimmer with NPLQ or willingness to train.
• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
• Experience in a care or club setting is preferred.
• Calm, caring approach and ability to work in a team.
• Interest in supporting children with complex needs and learning willingness.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate aquatic therapy programmes and sessions for individuals and groups.
• Support children and young people with complex physical needs in the water.
• Assist with personal care before and after aquatic sessions.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and monitor progress.
• Record outcomes per Aquatics Therapy Curriculum and collaborate with staff across disciplines.
• Support pool operations and uphold high health and safety standards.
