The Peckham Digital Accelerator Zone(DAZ) is a collaboration between theUAL Creative Computing Institute,UKBlackTech, and Southwark Council.We provide free digital skills training to young people aged 18-30 from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds in South London.
Gain practical skills in web development and data science, alongside expert career guidance, workshops, and networking opportunities with industry professionals and like-minded peers. Our goal is to empower the next generation of tech talent by equipping you with the skills to make a tangible impact on your community and the local economy.
Choose from two flexible courses:
️ Accessible Web Development (Online) - Discover how HTML and CSS are used to build a simple website, create interactive elements using JavaScript, and learn about accessible and inclusive web design.
Introduction to Data Science (In-person) - Learn how to use Python and discover automated data collection. You’ll gain valuable skills in simple data analysis and visualisation, and discuss ethical issues like the fairness of AI systems.
Courses are taught by academic staff from the UAL Creative Computing Institute. Programmes are completely free, with 1, 4, and 8 week options available, including daytime and evening sessions to suit your schedule.
Applications for our Introduction to Data Science course close on28 May 2025. Accessible Web Development courses will run in June, July, August and September 2025.
