A vibrant and supportive secondary school in Telford is seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join their PE department from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a commitment to fostering a positive and active environment for students.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate. The role involves teaching a broad curriculum that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and the development of a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. In addition, the teacher will be expected to contribute to the extracurricular activities provided by the department, including after-school clubs, sports teams, and other PE-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and varied PE lessons that meet the needs of all students

Develop and implement schemes of work that promote both practical and theoretical understanding of physical education

Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback that encourages improvement and fosters a love of sport

Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students to develop their physical skills and confidence

Support and participate in extracurricular activities, including after-school clubs, fixtures, and events

Collaborate with colleagues in the PE department to develop and refine the curriculum

Maintain high standards of discipline and behavior in the PE environment

Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related subject

Strong knowledge of a wide range of sports and physical activities
