About the role:

As our PE Teacher, you will ensure meaningful learning takes place for our students by teaching engaging and effective lessons. You will be a motivator and inspiration for our pupils and ensure they make rapid and sustained progress.

Our friendly, and hardworking PE Department includes a range of experience, from expert teachers and coaches to a cohort of excellent trainees and ECTs.

Key responsibilities
  • To plan, resource and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard, thereby ensuring meaningful learning takes place and pupils make rapid and sustained progress
  • To develop one's own teaching practice to a level of advanced proficiency
  • To fully implement all academy routines and techniques for creating a culture of high expectations
  • To contribute to the enrichment, extra-curricular and raising aspirations programmes
  • To provide daily pastoral tutoring to a form group
  • To contribute to the effective daily working of the academy
Person Specification:

Qualification Criteria

  • Qualified to at least degree level relevant to PE
  • Qualified to teach and work in the UK

Experience: Evidence of being, or having the potential to be, an outstanding teacher of the subject. Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge in the curriculum area, understanding of what an outstanding education looks like, and strategies to establish high expectations. Behaviours & Leadership: Effective team worker, high expectations, genuine passion, motivation for excellence, strong listening skills, commitment to safeguarding.

  • Excellent classroom teacher, or potential to be one, with reflective practice
  • Effective behaviour management, clear boundaries, sanctions, praise and rewards
  • Strategic thinking about lessons and tailoring to pupils' needs
  • Interpretation of pupil data to drive planning and attainment

  • Resilience, motivation, and commitment to standards
