We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified teacher (QTS) to join a team at a special school in Erdington, where all pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism and a range of additional special educational needs. This is a full-time role to start from September.
The schools learners often have significant gaps in their education, and school aim to bridge these through creative, inclusive, and compassionate teaching strategies.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to teach Physical Education in a setting where your impact goes beyond the curriculum. You will work with secondary-aged pupils (KS3 & KS4), many of whom require adapted approaches to learning. Your role will be to engage and inspire students, helping them develop not only physical skills but also confidence, resilience, and a sense of achievement.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS4
Has a proven track record as a consistently good practitioner
Is passionate about supporting the needs of the whole child
Brings creativity, patience, and positivity to every lesson
Understands the challenges of autism and strives to enable every pupil to thrive
Can develop and deliver tailored PE lessons that promote inclusion, wellbeing, and enjoyment
