Teacher of PE (Part-Time Maternity Cover)
Location: Redbridge
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London)
Contract: 0.8 Part-Time, Fixed Term (September 2025 February 2026)
Start Date: September 2025

Smart Teachers is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in East London (Redbridge borough), seeking a passionate and committed PE Teacher to join their successful department on a part-time (0.8) maternity cover basis from September 2025 until February 2026.

This role would suit a reflective, enthusiastic practitioner who is keen to join a collaborative and well-resourced PE department in a school that values professional development and teacher wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4, including delivery of GCSE PE

  • 0.8 timetable (4 days a week or flexible across 5 days)

  • Fixed-term maternity cover until February 2026

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)

  • Have experience teaching PE in secondary schools, including examination PE

  • Be a reflective practitioner committed to their own growth and the progress of their students

  • Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude
