Academics is seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join a reputable SEN Secondary School in Liverpool. This school is renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional education and support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are looking for a candidate who can inspire and engage students through a tailored physical education curriculum.

Job Description:

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering adaptive PE lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students with SEN. Your role will involve fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting physical health, well-being, and social skills development.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement engaging PE lessons that accommodate the varying abilities and needs of SEN students.
  2. Create an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages all students to participate and enjoy physical activities.
  3. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their personal goals.
  4. Collaborate with the SEN team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  5. Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, including after-school clubs and inter-school competitions.
  6. Promote positive behavior and social interactions through team sports and cooperative activities.
  7. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during PE lessons and activities.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a focus on Physical Education.
  • Experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and inspire students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for promoting physical health, well-being, and personal development in young people.
