Job summary

First Step Physical Education in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire is seeking an experienced PE & School Sport Coach to deliver PE lessons and a broad curriculum of sport to a partner primary school across terms. This salaried role is term-time (39 weeks) and involves planning content, tracking pupil progress and acting as a positive role model.

You will plan effective lesson content, assess pupil progress, and work with school staff and parents with professionalism.

Qualifications

• NGB Level 2 Coaching qualification (minimum).
• Minimum two years' experience in sports or school environment.
• Knowledge of at least three PE curriculum areas (Games, Dance, Gymnastics, Athletics, OAA).
• Experience creating and following lesson plans and assessing pupil performance.
• GCSE Maths and English.
• First Aid and Child Protection training (training can be provided).
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PE lessons and various sports to primary pupils.
• Plan and adapt schemes of work to meet pupil needs across the curriculum.
• Assess and record pupil progress each term.
• Be assertive, engaging and respected by pupils.
• Demonstrate professionalism with staff and parents.
• Carry out risk assessments for sessions and equipment.

Join First Step Physical Education as a PE & School Sport Coach, delivering structured, high-quality PE and sports sessions to primary school pupils on a salaried basis (Term-time - 39 weeks).

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic PE & School Sport Coach to work with our a partner primary school, delivering PE lessons and a broad curriculum of sport to the same groups of children each term. This role suits a confident, adaptable coach who can act as a positive role model, plan effective lesson content, and track pupil progress over the academic year.
