PE Cover Supervisor – South Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is delighted to be working with a vibrant and supportive secondary school in South Sheffield, which is looking to appoint an energetic and confident PE Cover Supervisor after the May half term. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sports enthusiast or aspiring teacher to gain valuable experience supporting students in a dynamic and active environment.

???? Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day, depending on experience.

Contract: Full-time, starting after May half term and continuing through to the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role from September 2025.

The Role: As a PE Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise and deliver pre-prepared PE lessons and sports sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll help to promote teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervise PE lessons and sports activities across KS3 and KS4
• Ensure students are engaged and participating safely and effectively
• Manage classroom and sports hall behaviour in line with school policies
• Support the organisation of sporting equipment and set-up of activities
• Report on student progress and behaviour to relevant teaching staff
• Encourage a positive, inclusive and enthusiastic approach to physical education
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• A degree or strong background in Sport, Physical Education, or a related field (preferred)
• Previous experience working with young people (e.g., coaching, mentoring, youth work, or school setting)
• Confident leadership and excellent communication skills
• A flexible, energetic, and proactive attitude
• An enhanced DBS on the update service is required (or willingness to obtain one through Elevate Supply)
• Available full-time and ready to start after May half term
