Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic PE Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming Newham secondary school for girls with a mixed‑gender Sixth Form. You will deliver Year 7-11 Core PE and Sixth Form Core PE, helping students develop physical skills, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.

The role requires strong classroom management and the ability to motivate pupils, with safeguarding foremost. A DBS update service registration or willingness to apply is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as PE Cover Supervisor or similar school-based role.
• Strong PE knowledge and ability to teach Core PE to Years 7-11.
• Willingness to deliver Sixth Form Core PE lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PE lessons across the school.
• Teach Year 7-11 Core PE and Sixth Form Core PE.
• Follow lesson plans and school schemes of work to ensure continuity of learning.
• Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment for all students.
• Manage behaviour effectively and maintain clear classroom expectations.
• Support students of different abilities and encourage active participation.
