Salary: £100 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic PE Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a vibrant secondary school in Newcastle from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or physical education who are looking to make a positive impact on young people.

Role Overview:

As a PE Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned physical education lessons and supervising students during PE activities. This includes managing behaviour, encouraging active participation, and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. The role is ideal for aspiring PE teachers, sports coaches or experienced cover staff who enjoy working in an energetic and student-centred setting.

PE Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:

• Supervise and deliver PE lessons across different year groups in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage student behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Encourage student participation and engagement in various sports and physical activities.
• Support the school's sports curriculum, helping students develop teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
• Provide guidance and motivation, fostering students’ confidence in their physical abilities.
• Assist with general classroom cover when required, ensuring a consistent learning experience.

The Ideal Candidate shall have:

• Previous experience in sports coaching, PE instruction, or working with young people is highly desirable.
• A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong interest or background in Physical Education, sports coaching, or teaching.
• Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
• A passion for promoting physical well-being and teamwork among students.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
