Job summary

Finatal is seeking a Finance leader to appoint a Financial Controller for a high-growth, PE-backed infrastructure business. You will own group control, reporting governance and support strategic decision-making in a capital-intensive environment.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will drive monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, capex oversight and board liaison, while leading a high-performing finance team and partnering with investors and lenders.

Qualifications

• Proven Financial Controller or Head of Finance experience in a similar setting.
• Experience in PE-backed environments highlighting governance and reporting processes.
• Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, transport, energy, telecoms or other capital-intensive sectors.
• Significant capex programmes, fixed asset management and project accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting and group reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing audits, statutory reporting and robust financial controls.
• Experience working with lenders, debt facilities and covenant reporting is advantageous.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, investor-backed environment.
• Strong stakeholder management with credibility at board/investor level.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts, consolidations and board reporting.
• Lead statutory reporting, year-end audit and external advisor relationships.
• Develop and enhance financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Oversee capex accounting across significant infrastructure investment programmes.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, project costing and asset capitalisation.
• Partner with operational teams to monitor project performance, capital spend and investment returns.
• Support debt, covenant and lender reporting requirements.
• Deliver cash flow forecasting, treasury oversight and working capital management.
• Produce reporting and analysis for private equity investors and the board.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems and controls.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Support M&A, integration and strategic growth initiatives where required.
