Job description

ACS International Schools are seeking to appoint a committed, driven, and inspiring teacher of Physical Education & Sports Science to join our school community from August 2025. A Head of Department responsibility is available for the right candidate.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to developing students with a lifelong love of physical activity, knowledge, and the desire to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. The focus is on empowering individuals to develop personal attributes supporting a happy and meaningful life.

Applicants should have experience teaching Sports Science at IBDP, A-level, or an equivalent level, with the ability to lead our IBDP Sports Science program. The candidate may also apply for an open Head of Department position if interested.

The candidate should be capable of coaching more than one core co-curricular sport at a high standard. Expertise in Basketball, Volleyball, or Tennis is advantageous but not essential.

The successful candidate will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs. A commitment to professional development and ongoing learning is essential.

The Department and School:

The Physical Education & Sports Department is a positive and dedicated team of eight full-time staff, complemented by a team of peripatetic coaches.

ACS Hillingdon:

It is underpinned by the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement courses, AP Capstone Diploma, and the US High School Diploma. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Education
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, Teaching license, certification, or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification teaching experience with relevant age groups
  • Strong IT skills, preferably with Apple products
  • High standards of personal and professional conduct
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience and willingness to integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Experience in an international school is desirable but not essential.
