Our Private Markets Investment Management division is looking for an Analyst to join our Private Equity Fund Investment Team (Primaries) to be based in London, UK.
The LGT Capital Partners Private Markets Analyst Program is a unique opportunity for recent graduates to launch an exciting career with a leading alternative investment specialist focused on private markets. The Analyst Program is structured as a 2-year full-time employment with the opportunity for outstanding candidates to continue their career at LGT Capital Partners as an Associate.
Since inception in 1998, the primaries team at LGT Capital Partners has been an active fund investor on a global basis, with deep local knowledge across Europe, US and Asia. With multi-billion in yearly commitments, we are one of largest and most reputable global allocators. You will join a team of investment professionals who assess and invest in private equity across Europe. It focuses on a variety of strategies but with an emphasis on emerging, small and mid-sized managers with strong ESG credentials and/or impact focus.
The successful applicant will be involved in the full lifecycle of private equity fund investments:
- Gain a robust understanding of the landscape of potential investment opportunities in Private Equity funds across various regions, sectors, and segments of the market (ranging from small emerging managers to established upper mid-market firms)
- Contribute to Due Diligence processes, including analysis of the strategy of Private Equity funds, analysis and benchmarking of historical performance leveraging proprietary tools and databases, detailed re-underwriting of portfolio companies / financial modeling, reference calls, in-person DD meetings, and legal negotiations;
- Produce investment memorandums and address questions from LGT CP’s Investment Committee and LGT CP’s client base;
- Maintain and build LGT CP’s network and relationships with PE managers: participate in update meetings with existing and potential new PE fund manager relationships, and in time attend Annual General Meetings;
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree from a top-tier university and an excellent academic track-record;
- Up to two years of relevant work experience, ideally from a similar position in Alternative Asset Management / Private Equity Fund of Funds / Placement Agent. Prior experience in Investment Banking / Management Consulting is also valuable;
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact confidently and professionally with colleagues and senior industry professionals
- Genuine interest in quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation of private equity funds and their underlying portfolio companies; as well as assessing team dynamics and culture of private equity managers;
- A self-starter personality with a curious mind, an eye for detail and excellent organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines;
