Job Description: PDM / CAD Administrator

Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Role:

Dexory is entering an exciting phase of rapid, iterative development across our autonomous logistics robotics platform. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive PDM / CAD Administrator to support the growth and evolution of our design systems and documentation processes.

You will take ownership of our PDM system, ensure best practices are followed across the engineering team, and play a key part in maintaining consistency and quality in our CAD environment. This is a hands-on role that bridges CAD administration, process development and design team support.

This role would suit a mechanical engineer who is particularly interested in all aspects of SolidWorks 3D modelling and design, and who has prior experience or a strong interest in the upkeep of PDM, CAD, and design office administrative functions. If you’ve worked in a similar capacity or feel your skills align with this scope, we encourage you to apply. This role will involve 5 days a week onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our PDM system and interaction with Solidworks and wider engineering teams
  • Develop and maintain PDM work flows
  • Manage and improve on templates (drawings, BOMs, Materials, diagrams)
  • Support future integration and interfacing between PDM, PLM and MES systems
  • Managing the checking in & checking out designs and drawings from the team
  • Creating & maintaining project catalogues & specifications
  • Upkeep of engineering standards and component supply records
  • Provide end user support and guidance for all mechanical designs & applications
  • Perform modifications of CAD drawings if required
  • Provide administration & support of the CAD platforms
  • Provide general administrative support to the engineering team
  • Develop and support team wide quality enhancements and procedures
  • Mapping and recording of work flow paths
  • Set out work instructions & guidelines for CAD & PDM to implement as work-standard
  • Perform any software upgrades if needed & new system implementations
  • Provide end user support & guidance in the use of PDM and Solidworks applications
  • Drive continuous improvement with scale and usage

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency Solidworks (and Fusion360)
  • Experience with PDM systems
  • Knowledge of GD&T, preferably for BS8888
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex issues
  • Excellent organizational and data management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems is a plus
