Job description

Vehicle Technician - Leicester

National Express Transport Solutions has an exciting opportunity to join our team in Leicester as a Vehicle Technician. We have increased our pay rates for Technicians in Wigston, where you can expect to earn £24.84 per hour during Day shifts and £27.76 during Night shifts.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will assist in the effective repair, servicing, diagnosis, and inspection of our PCV vehicles. You will work alongside other technicians to carry out fleet maintenance, ensuring our vehicles are roadworthy, safe, and reliable.

Shift Patterns
  • Day Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off
  • Night Shifts: Sunday to Thursday
Responsibilities
  • Undertake mechanical, electrical, and minor body repairs, including vehicle road tests upon completion
  • Diagnose and investigate faults using specialist diagnostic equipment to carry out sustainable repairs
  • Inspect vehicles to company standards, accurately record defects, and rectify them as needed
  • Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to standards, including modifications and safety checks
  • Provide coaching and training to less skilled team members to develop team capability
Requirements
  • IMI Level 3 Bus and Coach Engineering & Maintenance or equivalent (including Heavy Vehicles)
  • IRTEC Vehicle Inspection and Service Maintenance Technician certification
  • Proven experience in a large vehicle maintenance environment
  • A Full CAT D PCV license or willingness to obtain one
