Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a PCV Mechanic on behalf of one of our clients. Applications from HGV Mechanics will also be considered.

Hours of Work:
  • Sunday to Saturday, five from seven. Varying hours on a rotating shift pattern.
  • 4 x 8-hour shifts and 1 x 7.5-hour shift
  • 37 paid hours, 39.5 hours total per week

Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged, but all applications will be considered.

  • Maintain, inspect, diagnose, repair, and test mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Perform repairs to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy, meeting high standards of reliability and quality.
  • Carry out necessary maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to health & safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and flexible.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • PCV driving licence is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience with Cummins & Scania drivetrain & electrical systems.
  • Experience with modern electrical systems & OEM diagnostic tools.
  • At least 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally in a main dealer or PSV workshop.
  • Recognised apprenticeship qualification (City and Guilds or NVQ level 3).
