We are looking for an experienced and qualified fitter/mechanic/technician to join our Aldershot team.
  • Typical annualised earnings of between £41.5k and £44.5k for shift work

Guaranteed 40 minimum hours

You’ll be one of our team of 8 engineers and support staff who maintain and repair a modern and varied fleet of vehicles so our fantastic customers can travel safely and comfortably every day to healthcare, employment, shopping, leisure, and to see friends and family.

Aside from the satisfaction of being a key worker in your community, there are many reasons to join the Stagecoach South team…

  • Great benefits including a generous company pension scheme, 25 days holiday, free financial education, affordable loans, and a range of money-saving opportunities including discounts on holidays, retail, cinema outings, dental insurance, vehicle breakdown cover, hotels, and attractions.
  • Free travel for you and a companion on our buses, so on your days off, you can shop without worrying about parking, or enjoy a day in the city or seaside without fuel or parking costs.
  • Training – don’t worry if you’ve not worked on our vehicles before; we’ll train you and support you with a great team.
  • Varied work – you might find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, not always in the depot. We’re investing heavily in electric vehicles and infrastructure, so there’s plenty to keep you interested.
  • Job security – as a key worker at the heart of our communities, we always need skilled people to service and maintain our fleet, including brands like Alexander Dennis, Scania, Volvo, and Optare.
  • A safe environment – we provide boots, overalls, and equipment for your safety and protection.
  • UK-wide opportunities – if you move, you can transfer to a different location across our UK operations.
  • Career development – develop skills on hybrid and electric vehicles, with opportunities to progress to Technician, Master Technician, Engineering Manager, and beyond.
  • Secondment opportunities – work at events like Silverstone and Cheltenham Festival or support functions at head office.
  • Employee assistance programme – confidential support for health, wellbeing, and personal issues, available 24/7, including face-to-face counselling.
  • A great working environment – make friends, work with supportive managers, and join inclusive networks for women, veterans, carers, multicultural, and LGBTQ+ colleagues.

The recruitment process is simple: apply with your CV, we review, then invite you for an interview and depot tour.

We need from you:

  • Qualified Mechanical background
  • Vehicular focus – bus, HGV / LGV, truck, haulage, automotive, rail – if it moves, it’s good experience!

You should aim to deliver high standards of engineering maintenance and repair. If you’re interested and meet these criteria, apply below!

Our workplace culture celebrates diversity and inclusivity. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, religions, abilities, neurodiversity, sexual orientations, and ages.

Location: Stagecoach Aldershot Depot, 19 Halimote Road, Aldershot, Hampshire GU11 1NJ
