Compass Travel, a bus company operating in the South East of England, is expanding its Engineering Team. An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for a qualified Fitter with experience in working on buses/coaches (or HGVs) to join our Lewes Depot which has a purpose fitted workshop

Working requirements: Early shift working pattern 6am to 3pm Monday to Friday + weekend on call on rotation.

Duties:

  • Being responsible for undertaking vehicle maintenance, servicing and ongoing repair of a varied fleet of buses and coaches
  • Prompt and thorough repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard
  • Ensuring the fleet is maintained in accordance with DVSA best practice and to company standards
  • Working to the highest health and safety standards
  • Working on an early shift pattern 6am to 3pm Monday to Friday plus weekend on call on rotation

Person specification:

  • You can work safely to pre-set standards and guidelines
  • At least 2 years’ experience in PCV maintenance with recognised relevant qualifications ie. NVQ Level 3 / IRTEC etc.
  • You hold a current and valid car/van driving licence (category B)
  • PCV licence (category D) preferable but not essential
