Moving PEOPLE is actively seeking to employ enthusiastic drivers for their fleet of buses & coaches on a full time / part time and casual arrangement. We provide transport for school contracts, local private hire work, tours, excursions, National Express and rail replacement. You must hold a current PCV Category D driving licence and CPC card and will be operating a mixed fleet from brand new and nearly new executive coaches to DDA compliant 82 seat vehicles.

Typical duties are Monday to Friday. We have several types of working patterns available, which are explained below to accommodate a wide range of individuals. As a DVSA Earned Recognition operator, you can rest assured that we do things right, your duties will led by industry demands, shifts may vary, but will always be in line with WTD and EU Drivers Hours Regulations.

Looking for something flexible, weve got you covered.

Term-time

Only want to work Monday to Friday with no weekends?

No problem, were always on the look out for term-time drivers, meaning you get all the school holidays and every weekend off. You can even opt to have wages averaged out to give you an income all year round.

Full-time

Want a change from service work?

Weve got loads of ex-service bus drivers whove made the switch to something more stimulating. Although we accept its not for everyone, we have a huge variety in the work that we do from regular school services, swimming baths, Blackpool Pleasure beach school trips and more. As long as youve got an open mind, be willing to learn how to plan your own routes and love driving this can be the gateway to bigger things.

Casual

Want to pick and choose when you work?

No issues, we have several people who are retired etc, they simply give us their availability and well offer shifts around those dates and times.

Not a morning person?

No problem, our peak demand is usually in the afternoons anyway so were sure we can accommodate your lie in, or alternatively, work our AM peak and have the rest of the day off.

Only available on certain days?

No issues, we have several people who are retired etc, they simply give us their availability and well offer shifts around those dates and times.

What is expected?

Well, if youre a school bus driver then all the routes are pre-planned and made available in both hard copy and electronic formats so youll have everything you need to know about each service to hand. We will take you out and show you routes, go through the information packs on a one-to-one basis and even give you the opportunity to take our company car to go and do dry runs to build confidence.

This is the first step away from routine service work and is often the gateway to bigger things if you want it. You will be expected to effectively plan your own routes to and from destinations, but well of course help and guide you in doing so. Its not in our interest for anyone to get it wrong.

Knowledge of East Lancashire will be beneficial for our local school contracts, and nationwide knowledge is beneficial for our private hire work. A fantastic can-do attitude is essential. Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as long as youre a positive person and prepared to work hard.
