A leading healthcare provider in Birmingham is seeking a newly qualified General Practitioner to join a dynamic PCN team. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in a primary care setting while collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Following therecent changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners, we arelooking to expand our PCN team by seeking to employ a newly qualified GeneralPractitioner to work alongside our practices and PCN staff (must have qualifiedwithin the last 2 years).
As well as generalpractice staff, our PCN staff group includes Clinical Pharmacists and Technicians,Physicians Associates, Social Prescribers, Mental Health practitioners, GeneralPractice Assistants, Physiotherapists, and Care Coordinators.
To perform as anautonomous general practitioner working independently and with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patientsattending a primary care setting.
To provideprofessional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure themaintenance of clinical excellence. To be professionally accountable andresponsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMCcode of conduct, ensuring the safety of patients and the quality of careprovided.

In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holderwill be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking andsigning repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports andcorrespondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presentingproblems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workerswithin the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated andundiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards
Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements
Delivering enhanced services
Check, manage & process patient test results
Refer patients to secondary care and/or relevant organisations andinternally within the PCN (eg to additional roles members of the PCN team) asrequired
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary orgenerically whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake the duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
The post would be working at 3 sites Downsfield Medical Practice 1 session, Swan Medical Centre 2 sessions and Garratts Green Lane Surgery 1 session.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
