An excitingopportunity has arisen to join our multi-disciplinary PCN Team due to thechanges in the ARRS Scheme, we are looking to expand our team by seeking toemploy a qualified Phlebotomist to work alongside our practicesand PCN staff.
OurPCN staff currently includes Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Health& Wellbeing Coach, Mental Health Practitioner, Paramedics, First ContactPhysiotherapist, GPAs, Pharmacist Technicians, PCN Manager/Digital &Transformation Lead and a Care Home Team.
Thesuccessful applicants will work alongside the PCN and practice teams to supporthealthcare professionals, patients, and carers.

You will be a member ofour Primary Care team carrying out the taking of blood from patients at thepractice under clinical supervision of our clinical team, followingevidence-based national and local clinical governance principals.
GP practices have been working together in our area for years and formed BridgedalePrimary Care Network (PCN).Bridegale Primary Care Network is made up of GP registered patient lists for Roslea Surgery, Riverside Medical Centre and the Ryan Medical Centre. We serve a community of around 30,000 people. We are small enough to provide the personal care valued by our people and large enough to have impact and economies of scale through better collaboration.
As a Primary Care Network we are working hard to deliver on the national NHS England network contract that commenced in July 2019 and continues to March 2024.
This includes the following areas of focus:
anticipatory care
cardiovascular disease prevention and diagnosis
enhancing health in care homes
early diagnosis of cancer
tackling neighbourhood inequalities
structured medication reviews
social prescribing reviews
So as a primary care network ,with its member practices working ever closer together, it is important to establish shared core values which not only enables us to adapt, but to do so in the way that we all feel is right for our patients and staff. Health and Safety/RiskManagement
The post-holder must always comply with thePractices and PCN Health and Safety policies, by following agreed safe workingprocedures and reporting incidents using the organisations Incident ReportingSystem.
In accordance with the Health and Safety at WorkAct 1974 all employees have a duty to take reasonable care to avoid injury tothemselves and to others affected by their work activities.
The post-holder will implement the full range ofpromotion and management of their own and others health, safety and securityas defined in the Practices and PCN health & safety policy, the practiceshealth & safety manual, and the practices infection control policy andpublished procedures. This will include (but will not be limited to):
Ensuring job holders across the practice adhere totheir individual responsibilities for infection control and health and safety,using a system of observation, audit and check, hazard identification,questioning, reporting and risk management.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of health andsafety and infection control (statutory and best practice guidelines).
All staff must comply with infection controlpolicies and guidance, attend relevant updates and report issues of concern totheir immediate line manager (if no action or explanation received, then it isthe individuals responsibility to escalate their concerns to the PracticeManager).
Using personal security systems within theworkplace, according to practice guidelines
Identifying the risks involved in work activitiesand undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across the business.
Using appropriate infectioncontrol procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free fromhazards, and initiating remedial / corrective action where needed
Actively identifying,reporting, and correcting health and safety hazards and infection hazardsimmediately when recognised
Keeping own work areas andgeneral / patient areas generally clean, identifying issues and hazards / risksin relation to other work areas within the business, and assumingresponsibility in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness.
Undertaking periodicinfection control training (minimum annually)

Special WorkingConditions
The post-holder is required to travel independentlybetween practice sites (and other locations such as, care homes and homevisits), and to attend meetings etc. hosted by other agencies.
The post-holder will have contact with body fluids i.e.while in clinical practice.
To be prepared to work flexibly, includingevenings, bank holidays and weekends if required.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
