Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Paramedic (ECP) is to deliver safe, high quality primary care services to the practice population. Working within the NMC Code of Conduct and professional boundaries, the post holder will deliver primary health care interventions and care.

The post holder will support service development, the safe delivery of policy and procedures, and demonstrate effective professional standards, advocacy and performance.

About the Practice/Department/Team

Job responsibilities

Supporting the overarchingLakeside Healthcare strategy and service delivery, the Paramedic (ECP) provides complete episodes of care for patients with a widevariety and range of presenting problems and health care needs. Thisencompasses the provision of evidence based, high-quality care for patientswhose issues fall within urgent/acute episodes, long-term/chronic conditionsand including health promotion and public health elements.

As a Paramedic (ECP) you will be acting within your professional boundaries, providingcare for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis,treatment, and evaluation of their care with the support of the Supervising orUrgent GP. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert carefor patients within the St Neots PCN whilst working autonomously and takingfull accountability for patient encounters.

Qualifications
  • RGM or Paramedic Qualification
  • Current registration with the NMC or HCPC
  • Evidence of Continued professional development portfolio
  • Masters degree - Advanced practice pathway
  • Working at or working towards a masters level or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competencies.
  • Mentorship and/or leadership training
  • Undertaken Accredited training in Chronic Disease management
Experience
  • Experience of providing emergency care for patients and management of patients with complex needs
  • Evidence of wide knowledge base and competency in clinical practice
  • Experience of case management
  • Experience in audit programmes and research studies
  • Evidence of service development initiatives within role portfolio
  • Experience of Clinical Governance and risk assessment/management processes
  • Experience of teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
