A leading health service provider is seeking a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join their PCN hub team. The role involves providing patient care and support under the supervision of the clinical team, ensuring a high standard of service, with responsibilities that include vaccinations and administration of medications. We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and caring Healthcare Assistant, who is reliable and flexible to join our PCN hub team.
The successful candidate will be employed by Tynehealth on a fixed term basis for 18 months, 35 hours per week.

The role will be primarily based at the Oxford Centre, Longbenton as part of our hub team but may be required to work at alternative practice sites.
The role involves evening and weekend work.
Provisional rota subject to change:
Tuesday 7.30am-8pm (11hrs w/2breaks)
Friday 7.30am-3.30pm (7.5hrs w/break)

North West North Tyneside PCN is a group of 8 practices based in North Tyneside with a hub at the Oxford Centre, Longbenton. With easy access via roads and public transport, offering a professional, warm and friendly service to approx 65,000 patients.
As a HCA you will be working with a close-knit team of GPs, nurses and administrative and reception teams.
You will have access to free off-road parking.
Annual leave: 6.6 weeks + inclusive of 8 BH pro rata

Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Practice Nurse and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the PCN clinical team in the provision and delivery of programmes of patient care. Further details in the job description.

We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join us, the ideal candidate will be:
We operate using the TPP Systm1 clinical system
Job responsibilities
Urine Dips
Vaccinations and Immunisations [once fully trained]
Administration of prescribed medications under PSDs
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Measuring patients for compression stockings
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
Movement of clinical waste for collection from consultation rooms
