Job summary

OSI Electronics in St Neots, UK is seeking an Inspector to perform PCB inspections during SMT to IPC standards and customer instructions. You will operate on the shop floor delivering first-off and in-process inspections, ensuring builds meet drawings and workmanship levels with quality focus.

Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with production to apply lean, provide feedback on issues, and ensure rework is minimized.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct inspection, desirable across PCB assembly lines.
• Ideal familiarity with IPC610A workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Operates on the factory shop floor, performing first-off, batch, and sample inspections and process verification for electronics assembly.
• Ensures assemblies meet drawing and workmanship standards efficiently and with quality focus.
• Collaborates with production to apply lean manufacturing and right-first-time principles.
• Ensures builds follow build packs and IPC-610A or customer standard requirements.
• Follows all production processes and provides feedback on issues or rework.
• Minimises rework by communicating issues and training needs to supervisors.
• Escalates trends to engineering/QA and promotes right-first-time culture.
