Job summary

OSI Electronics UK, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, is seeking an Inspector to perform PCB inspections during SMT, referencing IPC standards and customer requirements.

You will work on the shop floor conducting first-off and batch inspections, verifying assemblies against drawings and BOMs, and contributing to right-first-time production through feedback and collaboration with production teams. The role focuses on quality, IPC guidance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Electronics manufacturing experience required.
• Direct inspection experience preferred.
• Familiarity with IPC-610A workmanship standards or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operates on the factory shop floor performing first-off, direct batch, and sample inspection for PCB assembly.
• Ensures all assemblies meet drawings and required workmanship standards in an efficient, quality-focused manner.
• Develops strong relationships with production team members to apply right-first-time and lean manufacturing principles.
• Verify production against build packs (BOMs and Drawings) and maintain IPC-610A or customer-specified workmanship standards.
• Provide feedback to operators on issues or rework and ensure rework is completed to standard.
• Escalate trends to engineering/QA to promote a strong right-first-time policy.
