Job summary

Craig-Y-Parc School, part of Salutem Care and Education, is seeking a proactive PBS/PBM lead to support students with complex needs. You will guide staff, develop personalised plans, and champion a prevention-focused, trauma-informed approach across the Floret View provision.

You will collaborate with families, therapists and safeguarding colleagues to ensure holistic, dignified support and effective behavioural interventions. Being a PBM trainer may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience establishing effective relationships with students, parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Experience in supporting students to access learning and to implement behaviour/intervention plans.
  • Experience supporting people with mental health issues, social and emotional barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily positive behaviour, regulation and readiness-to-learn support across Floret View provision.
  • Champion a PBS-led culture focused on prevention, dignity and quality of life.
  • Develop, implement and review PBS plans and risk assessments with staff, families and safeguarding colleagues.
  • Provide direct support to students during dysregulation using proactive de-escalation strategies.
  • Coach staff in consistent implementation of student plans and communication strategies.
  • Lead PBM training and practice development, ensuring safe, proportionate interventions.
  • Support restraint reduction through monitoring and staff development.
  • Follow up after incidents to check welfare and actions.
  • Record and review incidents and generate trend reports.
  • Lead interventions to develop emotional regulation and social understanding.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.
  • Support safe arrival, transition and departure arrangements.
