Craig-Y-Parc School, part of Salutem Care and Education, Cardiff, seeks a proactive PBS leader to work with the Floret View cohort. You will champion a PBS-led approach across the school, ensuring person-centred, trauma-informed practices support every student to learn and thrive.
Join our professional team to develop and review PBS plans, supervise staff, lead training, and collaborate with families, therapists and safeguarding colleagues to reduce incidents and promote wellbeing.
Craig-Y-Parc School is an independent special school and part of Salutem Care and Education, who provide services across England and Wales supporting adults and children in residential and educational environments. Set within its own beautiful grounds near Cardiff, Craig-Y-Parc School offers extensive specialist facilities designed to create an exceptional learning environment, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. Facilities include accessible outdoor spaces, a hydrotherapy pool, and high-specification sensory areas. At Craig-Y-Parc School, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthy, active, and fulfilling life, regardless of their background or disability. Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment that enables children and young people to flourish and grow. Craig-Y-Parc’s provision caters for students aged 3 to 19 years of age. Many of our children have profound and multiple learning difficulties. A significant number of the children have additional sensory and physical impairments, autistic spectrum disorder and social and communication difficulties. Our Floret View provision supports secondary-aged students with special educational needs, including speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).

We are looking for individuals with some of the following skills, knowledge and experience:
To work and lead other staff as part of a professional team to provide the highest quality holistic support to our students who need help to overcome barriers to learning. Students may have a range of moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behaviour, social, communication, sensory or physical difficulties. Providing timely support and advice to colleagues is also a key operational part of the role. The post holder will champion a PBS-led approach across Craig y Parc, ensuring that PBM practice sits within a wider culture of prevention, regulation, de-escalation, reflective practice and reduction of restrictive interventions.
The post holder will provide support to the school in a range of duties. Primarily, the post holder will work with the Floret View cohort and staff but as a combined site will also be expected to support Craig y Parc students and staff where needed.
