Job summary

Currys is seeking a Payroll Transformation Manager in London to lead data migration from SAP payroll on-premise. You will work with HR/IT and third-party teams across testing cycles and cutover, ensuring accurate pay outcomes and GDPR compliance.

You’ll develop migration plans, validate data, track issues, and report to the Head of Payroll. The role requires experience in payroll operations, data migration, and strong stakeholder communication. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll operations, HRIS implementation, or data migration projects.
• Proven track record managing at least one large-scale payroll system migration or implementation (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, Oracle HCM, UKG).
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
• Advanced Excel/data analysis skills; experience with SQL or data query tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to data quality and reconciliation.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data issues for non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional certifications in payroll or project management are beneficial.
• Experience in payroll system transitions, especially with SAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll data migration projects with planning, cutover, and post-migration support.
• Develop migration plans, timelines, and data mapping with IT, HRIS, and vendors.
• Design data validation, reconciliation, and audit processes for accuracy.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and legacy system issues before go-live.
• Ensure GDPR compliance and coordinate parallel payroll runs for accuracy.
• Manage risk registers, contingency plans, and testing cycles (UAT).
• Provide regular status updates to payroll, HR, finance and leadership.
• Document migration methodology and lessons learned for future projects.
