Wade Macdonald is seeking a Payroll Training & Development Specialist to own learning and development within a busy UK payroll function in Reading. The role focuses on strengthening technical expertise, improving operational performance and ensuring payroll professionals deliver accurate, compliant service.

You will create and deliver engaging training for new starters and experienced payroll staff, produce digital resources, advise on PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory obligations, and coach

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of UK payroll including PAYE, NI and statutory obligations.
• Proven experience delivering training and coaching to payroll professionals.
• Ability to lead group training and workshops for larger teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging training programmes for new starters and payroll professionals.
• Produce accessible learning resources, digital training content and practical guidance.
• Provide specialist guidance on UK payroll regulations (PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory obligations).
• Evaluate individual and team capabilities to tailor development programmes.
• Support payroll software enhancements through structured training and demonstrations.
• Coach colleagues, review progress and establish development objectives with management.
• Use AI tools to produce effective and varied learning resources.
• Maintain accurate development records and evaluate training effectiveness.
