Job description

Forvis Mazars is an engine for rapid and consistent career progression, offering individually designed career paths that help you pursue your interests, match your changing needs, and explore your true potential. We work with diverse, prestigious clients across a range of sectors and geographies, giving you the opportunity to constantly update and grow your skills for lifelong professional development.

About The Team

Our national payroll team supports our clients to better run their payroll functions and ensure compliance with UK payroll and pension legislation. Our successful team of more than 50 professionals is growing across all areas, and each year we recruit a cohort of trainees to train and mentor through the beginning of their payroll career.

About The Role

  • In this role, you will be enrolled in a 15-18 month Payroll Apprenticeship programme with an external learning provider. This is fully paid for by Forvis Mazars, and you will achieve a Level 3 Payroll Administrator qualification by the end of the programme.
  • You will be one of four trainees, spending time learning within your group as well as on-the-job training within an assigned team.
  • Around 6 months into your journey, you will begin to receive small client payroll assignments to develop your client relationship skills and independently manage a portfolio.
  • No prior experience of payroll or pension is required.
  • Some experience in providing good customer service is desirable.
  • Upon completing the apprenticeship, you will become a Payroll Administrator within our payroll services team.
  • You can be based in Birmingham or Manchester and must attend the office in person at least 2 days per week.

What are we looking for?

  • Keen interest in pursuing a career within payroll services and eager to undertake external learning.
  • IT skills, with some experience in Microsoft Excel and Outlook desirable.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Attention to detail and an inquisitive nature.
  • Confidence in seeking support when needed and a highly responsive attitude.
  • Passion to provide quality client service, including over the phone and in person.
