Job summary

Pertemps Plymouth Commercial is recruiting a Payroll Systems Assistant to join the Head Office team in Plymouth. The role focuses on supporting payroll systems, producing reports, maintaining accurate data and driving improvements across the payroll function.

The successful candidate will have payroll or HR systems experience, strong Excel skills, and excellent analytical abilities, with attention to detail and effective communication. Monday–Friday, standard office hours in Plymouth.

Qualifications

• Experience within payroll, HR systems, or a similar systems-based role.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain payroll and workforce management systems.
• Assist with system upgrades, testing, and enhancements.
• Monitor data quality, integrations, and system performance.
• Produce and analyse payroll and workforce reports.
• Manage data imports, reconciliations, and audits.
• Provide systems support and guidance to payroll colleagues.
• Support process improvements and payroll-related projects.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, GDPR, and internal controls.
