Job summary

Ibstock Plc is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Head Office team in the United Kingdom. You will manage UK payroll for around 1,700 colleagues, within a small specialist group, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting while supporting employees via email and phone.

As a key specialist, you will stay up to date with UK payroll legislation, handle starer/leaver processes, tax calculations, and benefits administration, with a focus on compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• CIPP qualified or equivalent.
• Understanding UK payroll and HR legislation, advising where required.
• Experience in payroll environment with end-to-end processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Process UK payroll for ~1,700 colleagues.
• Provide payroll support to employees via phone and email.
• Administer starter, leaver, salary changes and data adjustments.
• Process tax, PAYE, and payroll deductions.
• Handle BACS payments and payroll taxes; liaise with HMRC.
• Enter payroll overrides and salary adjustments.
• Run month/year end payroll tasks and GL reconciliations.
• Process non-cash benefits and taxable fringe benefits.
