You’ll lead all aspects of payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a best-in-class employee experience. This includes managing external payroll partners and supporting internal teams with payroll insights and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage outsourced payroll providers, ensuring service delivery aligns with SLAs and local legislative requirements.

  • Oversee and validate payroll inputs including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

  • Run regular audits and complete all SOX reconciliations and statutory reporting, including P60s and P11Ds.

  • Ensure accurate and timely pension administration, including auto-enrolment opt-ins/outs and reporting.

  • Stay informed on payroll legislation and lead continuous improvement of payroll processes.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related queries, supporting employees, HR, and managers.

  • Collaborate with HR on related activities such as maternity leave management and general employee support.

  • Support the rollout of manager and employee self-service tools, including training and troubleshooting.

About You

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in payroll management and administration.

  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with payroll software.

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and employee benefits.

  • Experience managing high-volume payrolls (500+ employees) in the UK.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location & Working Style

This is a hybrid position, based either in our Central London office (UK) or Warsaw (Poland). You’ll typically be in the office 2–3 days a week (Tuesday–Thursday), with flexibility depending on business needs.
