Job summary

Heybridge Associates Ltd is recruiting a Payroll Assistant for a busy payroll department in Keighley. You will manage payrolls across multiple frequencies for a varied client portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current payroll legislation and HMRC rules.

The role suits someone with previous payroll experience who enjoys a supportive team and is looking to develop their career within an established practice. Full-time or part-time hours are available and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience, ideally in an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
• Good working knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Confident using payroll software; experience with IRIS Staffology Payroll would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively to payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Calculate statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and ShPP.
• Process new starters and leavers accurately and within required timescales.
• Manage pension submissions and auto-enrolment requirements.
• Submit RTI returns to HMRC.
• Respond to payroll queries from clients and employees.
• Produce payslips and payroll reports.
• Assist with year-end payroll procedures, including P60s and P11Ds.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Support the wider team with ad hoc office duties as required.
