Discovery Trust is seeking a Payroll Officer to oversee monthly payroll across schools, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions. You will partner with the People Team, Finance, and the external payroll provider, handling changes and resolving payroll queries with a customer-focused approach.

This newly created role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and timely communications while supporting payroll compliance and process improvements within the Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, finance, HR administration or a similar administrative role.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Organised, with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll changes, including data updates and starters/leavers.
• Liaise with schools and managers to ensure timely payroll submissions.
• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
• Respond to payroll queries professionally and promptly.
• Support compliance with payroll legislation, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with payroll providers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Produce payroll reports and perform regular checks for accuracy.
